Mechanical Fitter / Machine Fitter / Machine Builder / Electrical Fitter / Assembly Technician

Cubed Resourcing is working with Carnaud Metal Box Engineering a market leader in the design, development and manufacture of high-speed can making machinery, with an $8.5 bn turnover, a reputation for excellence and operations in 41 countries. 

We are currently recruiting Mechanical Fitter / Machine Fitter / Machine Builder / Electrical Fitter / Assembly Technician to build their special purpose machinery.

Successful applicants will have a good history of this type of work, consideration will be given to those applicants that can demonstrate high levels of competency for following technical instructions. Applications with a background of working with Rotational Machinery (E.g. Carpet making, print and packaging, paint or drink manufacturing) will be considered.
You must be able to follow and understand engineering drawings/diagrams to build often complex machines from component level. Mechanical engineering students will also be considered for this role.

Applicants that have commissioned/decommissioned or maintained machinery and motors (textile, print, plant, automotive motors etc.) may be able to adapt their skills to what we are seeking.

The role of Mechanical Fitter / Machine Fitter / Machine Builder / Electrical Fitter / Assembly Technician includes:-
  • Working from schematics and reading engineering drawings.
  • Assembling complicated mechanical parts using your own hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Following work instructions which may include adjustment of some parts.
  • Experience of Scraping is of particular interest to the client.
  • Adherence to quality and fine tolerances is essential
Position Type:
Fixed Term Contract
Pay: £14.21
Paying Time and half and Double Time on overtime hours.
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15 Friday: 07:30 – 13:00 totaling 37.5 Basic
Qualification Requirements
Particular to this role you must be an apprentice trained engineer to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
For this position will need to demonstrate and evidence your previous five years' work history. You will need to provide credible references from your current/previous employers before testing stage.
