R&D/NPD lead – Leeds/North Leeds/York


The search is on for a next level ‘Art of the Possible’ R&D/NPD lead to join a dynamic, ideas and innovation led design and engineering team – passionate about and committed to shaping and defining the future - for our iconic, globally recognised client.


Our client is an exemplar player in modular building/design and build space – with an enviable reputation for breaking the mould with its approach to concept/design and execution of its range of product offerings.

This is a transformational career breakthrough/gateway role – within which, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evolving existing products, solutions and services – whilst being instrumental in exploring new and better – futureproofed innovations that will help underpin the business’s market leading status.

As R&D/NPD lead, you will join a high energy, high impact - Design and Engineering leadership team; all focused on, passionate about and dedicated to reimaging products, service and innovation for the future.

Ideally (although not essential, as we’re open to others with the transferable skills/ideas) working in the modular building design field, you will lead our resource planning and manage the development of appropriate technical and operational solutions to ensure overall and ongoing product portfolio compliance in a cost-effective and timely manner.

You will work closely with the Head of Design and Engineering, both internal and external stakeholders and collaborators - to help manage and implement the Product Design research strategy and New Product Introduction process, ensuring best in class technologies, materials and techniques are understood and executed in line with business mission and strategy.

  • Expert knowledge in modular building design/MMC or sectors/products and services where there are transferable skills, process and principles.
  • A knowledge and understanding of construction industry legislation, existing and emerging technology, and its application
  • Demonstrable experience with designing, leading and implementing projects
  • Relationship building qualities that enable you to effectively lead and coach a team to success
  • Commercially savvy
