Cubed Resourcing is working with a well-established engineering company who are a market leader in the design, development and manufacture of high-speed can making machinery, with an $8.5bn turnover, a reputation for excellence.

Role Overview

We are looking to recruit a Senior Development Engineer at our site in Shipley, West Yorkshire.

In the role, you will Lead the Development Team on multiple projects to ensure delivery to required specifications and timescales. Working alongside design engineers to develop new products and equipment to achieve the desired technical brief or sales specification, you will create and control supporting technical documentation such as test results and build books and liaise with internal and external customers and contractors to achieve the desired outcomes.

Role Criteria

Creating new test procedures to achieve the design brief, along with technical reports so that development is fed back to the design office, you will take a lead in the assembly of new machinery, developing build procedures and logging design changes as they occur.

Developing and introducing new initiatives to improve the safe working environment and carrying out Risk Assessments for project work, produce the associated documentation, you’ll adopt New Product Development (NPD) process and tools throughout projects.

The Candidate

With a formal technical qualification to degree level, or equivalent in mechanical engineering, along with practical assembly skills to a high standard, you’ll have experience operating production machinery and machine tools.

Additionally, you have a road understanding and knowledge of machinery construction and operation, along with knowledge of test equipment use and test techniques, measuring equipment, material properties, machining methods and techniques, packaging, mechanical transmission systems and hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.
