We maintain canals and waterways and boast an in-house fabrication shop specializing in structural steel, bridges, and nuclear decommissioning boxes. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dynamic Site Supervisor to join our dedicated team.
Salary details & package
- Hours: Monday-Friday + 1 week in 4 on call
- Company van and fuel card
- Westfield Healthcare
- 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)
- Holiday ‘buy back’ scheme (the company will ‘buy back’ up to 5 days annually)
- 4% Employer pension contribution
- Company closes for the Christmas period.
- Travel across the South of England.
About the Job:
Location: South of England (from Oxford / Kent through to Portsmouth / Southampton and more)
As a Site Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising sub-contractors on-site, overseeing work on canals, rivers, sewerage, and water projects.
- Managing day-to-day workload in collaboration with the Project Manager and Engineer.
- Handling site-related activities such as tooling, paperwork, site contacts, time management, and staffing.
- Leading inductions and toolbox talks for site personnel.
- Ensuring all contractors have the necessary permits to work on-site.
- Serving as the liaison between project managers, engineers, and planning teams.
- Providing feedback on site operative efficiencies and safety matters.
- Leading site-based activities, including client liaising and daily progress reporting.
- Assuming responsibility for all site activities when the Project Manager is absent.
- Collaborating with the Project Manager on design input, site surveys, and design meetings as needed.
About You:
We are seeking a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and experience:
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- Confined space training.
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) accreditation.
- Previous experience working with water control assets on rivers and waterways.
- Knowledge of installation of Penstocks and Flap Valves.
- Familiarity with working on tidal waterways and managing associated risks.
