Undergoing rapid expansion, the company has recently acquired three new businesses and is actively seeking further opportunities. Additionally, securing a substantial contract has broadened their footprint into the Northeast, complementing their already well-established presence in the Midlands, Southeast, and Southwest regions.

Due to growth, a trailblazing opportunity has emerged for a Group SHE Manager. This pivotal position is newly minted, designed to spearhead a positive safety culture across the group. You’ll take charge, ensuring compliance with pertinent standards, fostering a culture of safety through education and training, and harnessing available data for insightful analysis.

About the role:

As the Group SHE Manager, you'll report directly to the Board of Directors. Your key focus areas will encompass developing, implementing, and upholding a robust safety program, safeguarding employees' well-being, and fortifying company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive SHEQ strategy aligned with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Ensure a culture of compliance to relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks across industrial, civil, and infrastructure engineering projects, promoting proactive risk management practices.
  • Spearhead training programs to equip employees, suppliers and subcontractors with necessary SHEQ knowledge and skills, ensuring a robust understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Lead investigations into incidents or near-misses.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess SHEQ performance, implement corrective measures, and drive continuous improvement.

 

About you:

  • IOSH membership
  • Proven track record in a SHEQ management role within Industrial/Civil/Infrastructure Engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of SHEQ regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to drive data-informed decision-making
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
