Calling all CNC Machinist!!

 

Are you an experinced CNC machinist who is looking to work for a fresh challenge?

 

I am currently working with family run precision engineering company founded in 2001 currently boasting £2.7m Turnover and a strategic plan to growth plan. Due to this growth they are now looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to set, edit and operate Star Sliding Head Lathes, creating precision engineered parts for the Oil & gas, Medical and Food industries to name a few.

What's on offer:

  • Salary up to £37,000 DOE
  • Hours are 7am to 4.15pm Mon to Thurs and 7am to 12pm Friday.
  • 200 hours holiday per year + Statutory Holidays
  • 4 DAY WEEK
  • Company pension 3% Employer 5% Employee contribution.

  • Holidays are standard 20 days per year plus statutory days increasing by 1 day for every 3 years of service

The person:

The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for engineering, a good eye for detail and previous experience of CNC machining with Fanuc controls. You must be keen, wanting to learn and have a good work ethic, a team player willing to help out others when needed.

Training can be provided so we welcome applications from candidates from other CNC disciplines who may be looking for a move into Sliding Head Lathe work.

 

As a CNC Sliding Head Lathe you’ll be:

  • Set, Edit and operate Star Sliding Head Lathe CNC Machines with Fanuc Controls
  • Working to tight tolerances
  • Producing high precision batch work components anywhere from 50 off to 10,000+ off
  • Producing parts from various general engineering and exotic materials
  • Self-inspection of components
  • Supporting colleagues and other departments where necessary.
 

What we need from you:

  • Setting and Operating CNC Fixed or Sliding Head Lathes experience
  • (The ability to program is advantageous but not essential)
  • Previous experience working within a high precision manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and Interpret engineering drawings
  • Must be Self-motivated, dedicated and able to work under own initiative.
