Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Tier 2 Buyer. This is an ideal opportunity for those looking to progress your Buying career or kick start a career using your previous transferable experience in a manufacturing / production environment.

As a Tier 2 Buyer you will be carrying out medium value commodity sourcing for a complete supply chain solution and maintain and manage a wide range of commodities. As a key member of the procurement team you will own all aspects of the supplier control processes including the effective planning, buying and expediting of medium value and medium spend commodity sourcing solutions. You will also ensure that working capital targets are maintained and do not exceed weekly build program while at the same time work towards effective inventory and working capital reductions.

 Day to day you could expect to:

  • Identify and develop a commercial solution using existing and new supplier bases which will deliver the best overall solution.
  • To deliver effective working capital reductions and control via improvement of inventory turns and strict stocking policies.
  • To ensure inventory categorisation is maintained and Slow and Obsolete Moving Stock (S.L.O.B.S) are returned to supplier base or utilised through the business.
  • To use Material Recommendation Planning (MRP) systems to generate delivery schedules and order book management in line with MRP recommendations, provide supplier base fixed and forecast material demand which will enable a consistent and on time delivery of goods to the required date.
  • To manage the change process and material effectively according to the inventory policies.
  • To validate daily orders using MRP.
  • To expedite any late material to enable a continuous production flow.

We are looking to speak to candidates with the following skills and experience:

•        A good understanding of Sage Line 1000 or other Sage packages 
•        Excellent communication and team working skills. 
•        Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to daily issues with a resolution 
          Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office. 

•        Previous experience of buying, planning and scheduling. 
•        Previous experience of a working in a production facility
