Engineer Supervisor

Being an engineer supervisor, you will, of course, delegate and carry out a structured plan of maintenance, working through your scheduled PPM’s (Pre-Planned Maintenance), walk-arounds and ad-hoc call-outs to assist the smooth flow of production whilst, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of the internal Engineering Information Management System.

As a multi-discipline role, your time will be split electrical fault finding and resolving electrical issues as well as carrying out vital mechanical repairs and system checks.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will be positive mentor and a support for apprentice engineers within the organisation. You will able to not just complete necessary actions, you just have a curious mind, able to re-evaluate and make suggestions for improvement.

Days of work vary to include weekends and bank holidays. The core hours of work are 7am – 7pm. Flexibility is essential for this role as depending on business requirements, working hours may vary. 

The annual salary for this role is highly competitive at £40,000 per year, paid breaks (1 hour per shift) and 22 shifts holidays.

As an engineer supervisor with Health and Safety at the heart of all you do, experience working with PLC, CNC and VSD drives, retorts and food processing kettles as well as an advanced understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics is highly desirable as is a knowledge of a food manufacturing environment, health and safety awareness, food hygiene and food safety aspects

Qualifications

  • You must be fully qualified, Time Served and hold a nationally recognised qualification.
 
Additional desirable skills
 
  • A 17th or 18th edition (electrical) would be beneficial.
  • Ideally the candidate will have previous experience within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment but this is not essential.
  • NEBOSH formal qualification
  • IOSH
  • PUWER
  • Working knowledge of HACCP and GMP
  • Retort experience
  • Proven team management
